Legionnaires Disease
An outbreak of Legionnaires disease in Bogalusa, Louisiana, was traced to a contaminated ultrasonic mist machine in a local grocery. Thirty-three persons were hospitalized after working or shopping in the grocery’s produce department, where an infrequently cleaned mist machine was used to keep vegetables looking fresh, Centers for Disease control investigators stated in the Journal of Infectious Diseases.
