Hepatitis B Infection
University of Michigan pediatricians cautioned that more adopted children from Romania may be infected with hepatitis B than is indicated on their medical records. Children from Southeast Asia and parts of Africa also have a high rate of undetected hepatitis B infection. The doctors advised in The Journal of the American Medical Association that all internationally adopted children be carefully screened for infectious diseases.
