Genetic Mutation
The upper age limit for semen donors was lowered from 50 years to 40, the director of the American Fertility Society announced at an American Medical Association meeting. He cited evidence that the incidence of serious genetic mutations in sperm from men over 40 was four times higher than the rate among men under 35.
